ColumbiaGrid operates with a commitment to public involvement. Meetings and documents are open to anyone with an interest in ColumbiaGrid’s activities. The only exceptions are to respect needs for confidentiality, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) Standards of Conduct rules, and the protection of Critical Energy Infrastructure Information (CEII). Our board of directors’ meetings and conference calls are also open to the public, although the board may meet in a closed session for discussion of items requiring confidential treatment.
Schedules of ColumbiaGrid’s meetings are available on our calendar and related documents can be acquired there, as well. Interested persons may sign up to receive information regularly about ColumbiaGrid.
Beyond the openness of our operations, under the corporate bylaws, ColumbiaGrid is charged with “developing and implementing programs to obtain and consider regional public views, advice, and concerns regarding the carrying out of its purposes.” To date, each of the functional agreements has also directed ColumbiaGrid to operate in an open, inclusive, and transparent manner.
ColumbiaGrid has adopted outreach protocols. These protocols are designed to foster collaborative involvement of the states and tribes in our transmission planning and reliability activities. Each protocol will guide ColumbiaGrid’s communications with these entities. The protocols may be found in the Corporate Documents under Corporate Activities in the navigation bar at the top.
