Planning Team Announces new “Sensitivity study for the Quincy Area” Study Team

***Updated Announcement***

Greetings Planning and Expansion Participants and Interested Persons;

As discussed and agreed by planning participants during the December 7, 2021 Planning Meeting, ColumbiaGrid is inviting interested parties to participate in a new “Sensitivity study for the Quincy Area” Study Team.  This study team will focus on issues related to potential load growth which is higher than expected in Grant County PUD’s Quincy area as well as the affected systems including Chelan PUD, Douglas PUD and BPA.  We anticipate that this Study Team will initiate its activity starting in February 2018.

In order to facilitate future communications among participants, a distribution list will be created for this Study Team. For those who are interested in this study team and would like to receive future notifications regarding its activities, please contact Adrianne Barberini ([email protected]) by January 12, 2018.

WHAT OUR MEMBERS SAY

Member: Chelan County PUD      Project: ColumbiaGrid
Chelan County PUD

"Chelan PUD is a strong supporter of ColumbiaGrid and the work that’s accomplished through the transmission Planning and Expansion Functional Agreement (PEFA). As a result of that process, the mid-C utilities (Chelan, Grant and Douglas PUDs) and Bonneville Power Administration were able to reach an agreement that defined the need for a new transmission line, as well as determine who will construct, own and pay for the facility. Those difficult decisions were made successful through the expert and independent expertise of the ColumbiaGrid staff."
~~ Chad Bowman, Director - Transmission and Compliance
