Geomagnetic Disturbance (GMD) Study Team

Overview: This Study Team was formed to prepare and initiate technical studies that are required as part of TPL-007-1 standard (Transmission System Planned Performance During Geomagnetic Disturbances) and its work scope can be divided into multiple phases. Currently, this group is working on Phase I which focuses on preparing the data and base cases for GMD study. During this step, applicable GMD data will be reviewed for the accuracy and completeness before they can be incorporated in the applicable base cases. It is anticipated that these tasks will be completed by the end of 2017

(PRC-026) Relay Performance During Power Swing Study

This Study Team was formed to prepare and initiate technical studies in compliance with requirement R1.4 of the PRC-026 standard. "PC shall identify where relay tripping occurs due to a stable and unstable power swing during a simulated disturbance". Compliance due date: December 2018.
